Seasonal Change :)

Beginning masters degree; Summer fades away and Autumn begins.... there is definitely a scent of change in the air.... A cool change, the rough red foliage, even nature shows off her beauty in this transition...

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven...

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end...

I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

Old Journals...

Been flicking through my old journals, and came upon this little gem of a verse that I remember spoke volumes in my life back then, and I'm sure applies to everyone right now too...

24/03/2004 (Titled: Don't Worry, Josh!)
"Seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Grappling with Chris Tomlin

One of the most popular Christian worship songs going around for the past year is Chris Tomlin's "How Great is our God". It has been top 5 on CCLI's most popularly used worship songs for the past year or two, and it is quite an easy song to pick up and sing.

Tonight I've spent a good half hour picking this song apart and trying to figure out how to piece the meaning of the song together as a unified message... and it has definitely been an interesting adventure! Just to get the minds moving, here are the lyrics of the song... let me know if you have any thoughts.... I may post later with what I came up with, and some of my personal thoughts about the song..

The splendor of the King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

Run Hard

Run hard for Jesus....

He will take care of the rest...
"Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

2010

New year, new opportunities.

A year of growing, a year of change.

A path of highs and lows, happiness and sadness.

Things may change, but one thing remains the same: Our Awesome God.

As the sun rises over a new day and new year, His immeasurable love and sovereign plan of salvation will never change.

Holidays and Reminders

Gen. 2:6-10 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.

1 John 1:7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Walking the Tightrope

It feels like I'm walking the tightrope of life. I don't know what to expect. There are encouraging gusts of wind helping me along, the unbalancing and destructive winds which throw me back, and the surprising winds which I have no idea how to read them.

All in all I'm learning to trust God the best I can, knowing that he is intricately controlling ths tightrope and knows where it is going. Even if I get knocked down and stumble, I know that His loving hands are there to pick me up and put me back on track. He has a plan as good and better than what I ever imagined. He knows my thoughts and desires, and He wants the best for me. He is someone I can rely on. He is the creator, the sovereign ruler and our loving Father.

Walk the tightrope in life. Trust in God. He will make my path straight.
